How the exact age is worked out

Ages are not just today's date minus your birth year. We subtract the calendar values and borrow from the previous month whenever the day count would go negative, using the real number of days in that month. That is why leap years and short months never throw the result off. If you add your time of birth, the live second counter becomes accurate to the moment you arrived.
