๐ How it works & FAQWhat this FBA calculator includes
Selling on Amazon FBA means your sale price gets carved up before you see a cent. This calculator subtracts the four costs that matter most: the referral fee (Amazon's commission, 15% for most categories but as low as 8% for some), the FBA fulfillment fee (the per-unit pick, pack and ship charge, which scales with size and weight), monthly storage allocated per unit, and your own landed cost — what you paid for the product plus inbound shipping to Amazon's warehouse. What's left is your net profit per unit, shown alongside margin and ROI so you can judge a product from both angles. All fee figures are approximate defaults you can edit; check Amazon's current fee schedule before committing, and treat results as estimates only, not financial advice. Everything runs in your browser — nothing you type is sent anywhere.
How to use it
- Enter your planned selling price.
- Add your product cost per unit and inbound shipping per unit (total freight divided by units in the shipment).
- Check the referral fee percentage — 15% covers most categories, but verify yours.
- Pick a size tier to load a typical fulfillment fee, then overwrite it with the exact figure from Amazon's revenue calculator if you have it.
- Set a monthly storage estimate per unit, then read your net profit, margin and ROI — results update live.
FAQ
- What's a good FBA margin or ROI?
- Many private-label sellers target at least a 30% margin and 100% ROI to leave room for ads, returns and price drops. Thin-margin products get wiped out by a single fee increase.
- How do I estimate storage per unit?
- Divide your expected monthly storage bill by the units you expect to sell that month. Fast-moving inventory might cost a few cents per unit; slow movers and Q4 storage cost far more.
- Does this include PPC or returns?
- No. Advertising, returns processing and refund losses vary too much to default sensibly — add an average per-unit figure to your product cost if you want them reflected.
- Why is my number different from Amazon's calculator?
- Amazon prices fulfillment by exact dimensions and weight. Our tiers are ballpark defaults — paste in the precise fee for your ASIN for a tighter estimate.
