Business Days Calculator
Count working days (MonβFri) between two dates, or add a number of business days to a start date. Weekends are skipped automatically, and you can add your own holidays to exclude β everything runs live in your browser.
π How it works & FAQWhy business days matter
Deadlines, contract terms, payroll cycles, shipping estimates, PTO requests, and legal notice periods are almost always written in business days, not calendar days. "Within 10 business days" can mean two full weeks β or longer if a holiday lands in the middle. This calculator does that math for you instantly. It counts Monday through Friday as working days, skips every Saturday and Sunday, and lets you add any holidays you want excluded, since observed holidays differ by country, state, and even company. Nothing is uploaded anywhere: every calculation runs privately in your browser.
How to use it
- Choose a mode: count the business days between two dates, or add a number of business days to a start date.
- Pick your dates. In add mode, enter how many business days to add β use a negative number to count backwards.
- Optionally click + Add holiday for each holiday that should not count as a working day (company closures, national holidays, and so on).
- Read the results, which update live: business days, calendar days, and how many weekend days and holidays were skipped.
FAQ
- Are the start and end dates included in the count?
- Yes. In between mode, both endpoints are counted when they fall on a weekday that is not a holiday, and the calendar-day total also includes both dates. Monday to Friday of the same week shows 5 business days.
- How does add mode handle weekends?
- The start date itself is day zero. Each business day added moves you to the next weekday that is not on your holiday list, so adding 1 business day to a Friday lands on Monday.
- Why do I have to enter holidays myself?
- Holiday calendars vary widely by country, region, and employer, and many businesses observe shifted dates when a holiday falls on a weekend. Entering your own list keeps the count accurate for your situation.
- Does a holiday on a Saturday change the result?
- No. Weekend dates are already excluded, so a holiday falling on a Saturday or Sunday has no extra effect. Only weekday holidays inside the range reduce the business-day count.
