Crop PDF Margins

Shave the white borders off every page of a PDF by entering one margin value β€” private and instant, right in your browser.

πŸ“– How it works & FAQ

Choose a PDF, set how much to trim from each edge, and download a cropped copy. Your file never leaves this device.

What cropping a PDF actually does

Every PDF page has a crop box β€” the rectangle a viewer or printer actually shows. This tool doesn't delete anything from the file; it shrinks the crop box inward by the margin you choose, so the white borders around your content disappear. The underlying page data stays intact, which means the change is clean and reversible if you re-crop with a margin of 0. Because the crop box is a standard PDF instruction, the trimmed result looks right in every reader, on screen and in print.

Points, millimetres, and inches

PDF measurements use points, where 72 points equal one inch and 1 mm equals about 2.835 points. A standard US Letter or A4 page has 72 pt (1 in / 25.4 mm) margins, so trimming 36 pt takes off half an inch from each edge. Pick whichever unit you think in β€” the tool converts it for you and applies the same trim to all four sides of every page.

How to use it

  1. Click Choose file and select the PDF you want to trim.
  2. Type how much to remove from each edge into Margin to trim.
  3. Choose your Units β€” points, millimetres, or inches.
  4. Press Crop & download. A new file ending in -cropped.pdf downloads automatically.
  5. Open it to check the framing. Too tight or too loose? Adjust the margin and run it again.

FAQ

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs inside your browser using JavaScript β€” the file never leaves your device and nothing is sent to a server.
Does it trim the same amount from every side?
Yes. The margin you enter is removed equally from the left, right, top, and bottom of each page, keeping your content centered.
What if my pages are different sizes?
The trim is applied per page relative to each page's own box, so mixed-size documents crop correctly. Any page smaller than twice the margin is left untouched.
Can I crop only one page?
This tool crops the whole document at once. To crop a single page, split it out first, crop it, then reassemble.
