Deadline Countdown Calculator
Pick a deadline date and time to get a live countdown plus the exact number of calendar days and business days remaining โ with weekends and your own holidays skipped automatically.
๐ How it works & FAQKnow exactly how much time you really have
A deadline three weeks away sounds comfortable until you subtract the weekends, a public holiday, and the half-day you lose to meetings. This deadline countdown calculator shows the honest picture: a live countdown in days, hours, and minutes, plus the number of calendar days and true business days between now and your deadline. Everything runs privately in your browser — no accounts, no uploads, and the numbers update every second while the page is open.
Calendar days vs. business days
Calendar days count every single date from today through the deadline, weekends included — useful for countdowns, launches, and personal goals. Business days count only your working days, starting tomorrow and running through the deadline date. By default that means Monday to Friday, but you can switch to a six-day week or a seven-day schedule, and paste in any holidays your team takes off so they are excluded too. The results row shows exactly how many days were skipped, so the math is never a mystery.
How to use it
- Pick your deadline date — the tool preloads a date two weeks out so you can see it working immediately.
- Set the deadline time. It defaults to 5:00 PM, a typical end-of-business cutoff, but you can set 9:00 AM submissions or 11:59 PM portals just as easily.
- Choose your work week: Monday–Friday, Monday–Saturday, or all seven days.
- Optionally list holidays to skip, one date per line in YYYY-MM-DD format, and read your live countdown, calendar days, business days, and weeks remaining.
FAQ
- Does the business-day count include today?
- No. Business days are counted from tomorrow through the deadline date, inclusive. Today is treated as already in progress, which matches how most teams talk about "working days left."
- What happens if my deadline has already passed?
- The tool flips into elapsed mode and shows how many days and hours have gone by since the deadline moment — handy for tracking how overdue something is.
- Which time zone does the countdown use?
- Your device's local time zone. If the deadline is set in another zone, convert it to your local time before entering it.
- Are holidays built in?
- No fixed list is assumed, because holidays vary by country and company. Paste in the dates that apply to you and they are excluded from the business-day count.
