Enter your ad spend, the orders it produced, your average order value and your product margin โ the calculator shows ad revenue, ROAS, ACoS and true net profit after ad costs, including the 15% Offsite Ads fee when it applies. ๐ How it works & FAQOnsite vs. Offsite: how Etsy ad money flows
Etsy runs two very different ad programs. Etsy Ads (onsite) work like classic pay-per-click: you set a daily budget and pay for every click. Offsite Ads flip the model — Etsy promotes your listings on Google and social platforms at no upfront cost, then takes a cut only when an ad produces a sale: 15% of the attributed order for most shops, dropping to 12% once your shop has passed $10,000 in sales over the previous 365 days, capped at $100 per order. This calculator handles both. Enter your spend, the orders it generated, your average order value and your product margin, and it returns ad revenue, ROAS, ACoS and the number that actually matters: net profit after every ad cost. The fee figures are approximate defaults you can edit; check the platform’s current fees — estimates only, not financial advice.
How to use it
- Enter your ad spend for the period — your Etsy Ads bill, or 0 if you are modeling Offsite Ads alone.
- Add the orders those ads produced and your average order value, from your ad stats.
- Set your product margin before ads: what you keep after materials, production and Etsy’s regular fees, as a percentage of price.
- Pick the ad type. Choosing Offsite unlocks the fee field — change 15 to 12 if your shop qualifies for the lower rate.
- Read the cards: they update live, and the ROAS card tells you whether you are above or below your break-even.
FAQ
- What counts as a good ROAS on Etsy?
- Your break-even ROAS is 100 ÷ your margin percentage. At a 30% margin you need 3.33x just to tread water, and with the 15% offsite fee that jumps to 100 ÷ (30 − 15) = 6.67x. Most sellers want a comfortable cushion above that.
- Can I turn Offsite Ads off?
- If your shop made under $10,000 in the past 365 days, yes — it is optional. Above that threshold Etsy enrolls you permanently, but your fee drops from 15% to 12%.
- What is the difference between ROAS and ACoS?
- They are the same fact viewed from opposite ends: ROAS is revenue ÷ spend (bigger is better), ACoS is spend ÷ revenue as a percentage (smaller is better). A 5x ROAS equals a 20% ACoS.
- Does anything I type get uploaded?
- No. The whole calculator runs in your browser — nothing is sent to a server, stored, or tracked.
