Facebook Marketplace Fee Calculator

See what Facebook keeps on a shipped order โ€” and what actually lands in your pocket โ€” with every fee assumption editable.

๐Ÿ“– How it works & FAQ

Fee figures are approximate defaults you can edit โ€” check Facebook's current fee schedule. Estimates only, not financial advice.

What Facebook Marketplace charges sellers

Facebook Marketplace keeps things simpler than most platforms: on orders sold with shipping and checkout, it deducts a single selling fee of 10% of the total sale price โ€” item price plus the shipping the buyer pays โ€” or $0.80, whichever is greater. The minimum matters on cheap items: any order under $8.00 total pays the flat $0.80 instead of 10%. Sell locally and take payment in person, and there is no selling fee at all โ€” local pickup deals are free. This calculator applies that exact logic, shows the fee and your net payout, then subtracts your own item and label costs so you can see real profit and margin on every sale.

Editable fees, because platforms change them

The fee figures are approximate defaults you can edit โ€” Facebook has changed its selling fee before and can again, so check the platform's current fee schedule; everything here is an estimate only, not financial advice. If the rate or minimum shifts, just type the new numbers into the fee fields and the cards recalculate instantly. Everything runs privately in your browser โ€” nothing you enter is uploaded or saved anywhere.

How to use it

  1. Choose the delivery method โ€” shipped order or local pickup.
  2. Enter the item price and, for shipped orders, the shipping you charge the buyer.
  3. Add what the item cost you and what the shipping label will cost.
  4. Adjust the selling fee percentage or minimum if Facebook's current rates differ.
  5. Read your net payout, selling fee, profit, and margin โ€” the cards update live as you type.

FAQ

Does the fee apply to shipping I charge the buyer?
Yes. The selling fee is calculated on the full order total โ€” item price plus shipping โ€” so raising shipping by $1 costs you the same fee as raising the price by $1.
Why is my fee exactly $0.80?
The minimum kicked in. Ten percent only exceeds $0.80 once the order total passes $8.00; below that, every shipped sale pays the flat minimum, which stings on very cheap items.
Is local pickup really fee-free?
Yes, when the buyer pays you in person with cash or a peer-to-peer app. If a local buyer pays through Facebook's checkout instead, the order is processed like an online sale and the selling fee can apply.
Is the net payout my profit?
No โ€” it is what Facebook pays out before your own costs. The profit card already subtracts your item cost and shipping label, but packaging and taxes still come out of that number.
