๐ How it works & FAQWhat a keyword ranking is actually worth
SEO advice loves to talk about rankings, but rankings only matter if they turn into revenue. This calculator puts a dollar figure on a keyword by chaining four numbers together: monthly searches x expected click-through rate at your position x your conversion rate x the value of one conversion. The result is the monthly revenue you could expect from holding that spot, plus the yearly total, so you can decide whether a keyword deserves content, links, and your time.
The click-through rates matter more than most people realize. Position 1 typically captures around a third of all clicks, while position 10 gets a small fraction. The calculator ships with widely cited industry averages for positions 1 through 10, and every one of them is editable, so if your analytics show different behavior in your niche, plug in your own numbers.
All figures are estimates only, not professional or financial advice; CTR benchmarks, conversion rates & fees vary by industry and query.

- Adjust the CTR presets if you have better data, and read the monthly and yearly value instantly.
FAQ
- Where do the default CTR numbers come from?
- They reflect commonly published organic click-through studies, which consistently show position 1 earning roughly 30 percent of clicks with a steep drop after that. Treat them as starting points and override them with your own search console data whenever possible.
- What should I use for value per conversion?
- For e-commerce, use average order value times your margin if you want profit rather than revenue. For lead generation, use lead value: customer value multiplied by your close rate.
- Why compare two positions?
- Run the calculator at your current rank, then at a target rank. The difference is the monthly upside of the SEO work, which makes budgeting much easier.
- Does branded search work the same way?
- Branded keywords usually convert far better than the defaults here, so raise the conversion rate accordingly.
