- Are these US or metric cups?
- These are US customary cups at 236.6 mL. A metric cup is 250 mL and a UK/imperial cup is 284 mL, so results will differ slightly if your recipe uses those.
- Why 236.6 mL and not a round number?
- The US cup is legally defined from fluid ounces (8 fl oz), and each fluid ounce is 29.5735 mL. Rounded, that lands at 236.6 mL — the standard used here.
- Can I convert dry ingredients like flour?
- This tool converts volume only. Volume-to-weight for dry goods depends on the ingredient's density, so a cup of flour and a cup of sugar weigh different amounts. Use a dedicated weight chart for those.
