📖 How it works & FAQWhat is a palindrome?
A palindrome is a word or phrase that reads exactly the same forward and backward, like level, kayak, or the classic sentence “A man a plan a canal Panama.” For single words the letters mirror themselves directly; for phrases you ignore spaces, capital letters, and punctuation, then check that the remaining letters form the same sequence in both directions. Palindromes have delighted word lovers for centuries and show up in poetry, puzzles, tattoos, band names, and wedding vows.
Why use this generator?

FAQ
- Does capitalization or punctuation matter?
- No. Standard palindrome rules ignore case, spaces, and punctuation — so “Madam Im Adam” counts even though the raw text isn’t a perfect mirror.
- How are letters counted for phrases?
- Only letters and numbers are counted; spaces and symbols are skipped. That’s why a long-looking phrase may report fewer letters than you expect.
- Can I create my own palindrome?
- This tool suggests known palindromes rather than inventing new ones. Use the results as inspiration, then try building outward from a central letter — palindromes are easiest to write from the middle out.
- Is any of this sent to a server?
- Never. The entire library and all filtering run locally in your browser, so it works offline and keeps your activity private.
