Pizza Party Calculator
Tell us how many people are coming and we will tell you exactly how many pizzas to order.
๐ How it works & FAQHow many pizzas do I actually need?
The classic rule of thumb is three slices per person, and a standard large pizza is cut into eight slices. So for a party of ten hungry guests you need thirty slices, which rounds up to four pizzas. This calculator does that math instantly and rounds up to whole pizzas, because you can never order two-thirds of a pizza and a little extra never hurts.
Adjust for your crowd
Not every guest eats the same. Bump slices per person up to four for teenagers, sports fans, or a late-night crowd, and drop it to two if you are serving lots of sides, appetizers, or dessert. Kids typically eat one to two slices. You can also change slices per pizza if your shop cuts pies into six or ten slices instead of the usual eight. These are friendly estimates to help you order, not a guarantee of exact appetites.
How to use it
- Enter the number of guests coming to your party.
- Set slices per person (start with 3, raise it for big eaters).
- Set slices per pizza to match how your pizzeria cuts them (usually 8).
- Read the pizzas-to-order number and place your order with confidence.
FAQ
- How many pizzas for 20 people?
- At three slices each that is 60 slices, or about 8 large pizzas cut into 8 slices apiece.
- Should I round up or down?
- Always round up. This tool rounds up automatically so no one goes hungry, and leftovers are a bonus.
- What if I am serving sides and salad?
- Lower slices per person to 2. Big sides fill people up, so you will need fewer pizzas.
- How many slices are in a large pizza?
- Most large pizzas are cut into 8 slices, but some shops do 6 or 10 & you can set that here.
