PNG to JPG Converter

Turn PNG images into small, shareable JPGs โ€” with a background color of your choice for any transparent areas.

๐Ÿ“– How it works & FAQ

Why convert PNG to JPG?

PNG is a lossless format that's great for graphics, screenshots, and anything with sharp edges or transparency. But those files can get large, and many sites, forms, and email attachments prefer JPG. Converting to JPG uses smart compression to shrink photos dramatically while keeping them looking good โ€” perfect when you need a smaller file or a format that's accepted everywhere.

What happens to transparency?

JPG cannot store transparent pixels, so every see-through area needs a solid color underneath. That's what the background color picker is for: any transparent part of your PNG gets filled with the color you choose before the JPG is created. White is the safe default, but you can match a page background, brand color, or go with black โ€” whatever suits where the image will live. This all runs on your device, so your images are never uploaded to a server.

How to use it

  1. Click the file box and select one or more PNG images (batch is supported).
  2. Pick a background color to fill any transparent areas โ€” the default is white.
  3. Drag the quality slider. Higher keeps more detail and a larger file; lower saves space.
  4. Press Convert to JPG and wait for the thumbnails to appear.
  5. Download each image individually, or use Download all to grab the whole batch.

FAQ

Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser using an HTML canvas. Your files never leave your device.
Why does my transparent logo have a colored box around it?
JPG has no transparency, so the empty space is filled with your chosen background color. Pick a color that matches where you'll place the image, or keep the PNG if you need transparency.
What quality setting should I use?
90% is a good balance for most photos. Drop to 70โ€“80% for smaller files, or push to 100% when you want maximum detail and don't mind a larger JPG.
Can I convert many files at once?
Yes. Select multiple PNGs and they'll all convert with the same background color and quality, then you can download them one by one or all together.
