๐ How it works & FAQHow Poshmark's fee works
Poshmark keeps its fee structure unusually simple. For sales under $15, it takes a flat $2.95. For sales of $15 or more, it takes a 20% commission instead. That's it — there are no listing fees, no monthly store fees, and no separate payment processing charge. Buyers pay the shipping label directly, so on a standard order shipping never touches your payout. This calculator applies whichever rule matches your sale price, shows the fee and your net earnings, then subtracts what the item cost you so you can see actual profit and margin.
Why the fee fields are editable
Marketplaces change their rates, and Poshmark has tested different structures over the years. The flat fee, the commission percentage, and the $15 threshold are all inputs here, so if the fee schedule changes — or you sell in a country with different rates — you can update the numbers yourself. These fee figures are approximate defaults you can edit; always check the platform's current fee page. Everything runs privately in your browser, and results are estimates only, not financial advice.
How to use it
- Enter your listing's sale price — the price the buyer pays for the item, not including shipping.
- Add what the item cost you (thrift price, wholesale cost, or original retail if you're clearing your closet).
- Adjust the flat fee, commission, or threshold if Poshmark's current fees differ from the defaults.
- Read your earnings, the fee, and your profit — the cards update live as you type.
FAQ
- What happens at exactly $15?
- The 20% commission applies at $15 and up, so a $15.00 sale costs you $3.00 in fees while a $14.99 sale costs the flat $2.95. Between $14.75 and $15, the flat fee is actually the worse deal.
- Does Poshmark charge fees on shipping?
- No. On a standard order the buyer pays the shipping label, and the fee is calculated on the item's sale price only. If you offer a shipping discount, that discount comes out of your earnings separately.
- Is the profit figure my taxable income?
- Not necessarily — it's sale price minus fees minus item cost. Your tax situation depends on sourcing costs, supplies, mileage, and local rules, so treat this as a quick estimate.
- Is my data stored anywhere?
- No. Everything runs in your browser — nothing you type is sent to a server or saved.
