Line items

Make a professional paid receipt in seconds

A receipt is written proof that a payment was received. This free generator builds a clean, printable receipt marked PAID entirely in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded or stored on a server. It is handy for small businesses, freelancers, craft-fair and market sellers, landlords collecting rent, tutors, and anyone who takes cash or peer-to-peer payments and needs to hand over a tidy record on the spot. Every line total, the subtotal, tax, and the final amount update live as you type, so you can see exactly what the finished receipt will look like before you print it.

How to use it

  1. Enter your business name and the customer’s name.
  2. Add a receipt number and pick the payment date (today is filled in for you).
  3. Choose the payment method — cash, card, check, bank transfer, PayPal, and more.
  4. Fill in each line item with a description, quantity, and unit price. Click + Add item for more rows or the × button to remove one.
  5. Set the tax rate if tax applies; leave it at 0 for tax-free sales.
  6. Click Print receipt to print it, or choose “Save as PDF” in the print dialog to keep a digital copy.

Tax figures here are estimates only, not professional, tax, or financial advice — sales-tax rates vary by location and change over time, so confirm the correct rate for your area and edit it in the tax field.

FAQ

Can I save the receipt as a PDF instead of printing it?
Yes. Click Print receipt, then pick “Save as PDF” as the destination in your browser’s print dialog. Only the receipt itself prints — the form and page around it are hidden automatically.
Is my customer’s information private?
Completely. The tool runs 100% in your browser with no accounts and no uploads. Refreshing the page clears everything, so print or save before you leave.
What is the difference between a receipt and an invoice?
An invoice asks for payment; a receipt confirms payment was received. That is why this document shows the payment method and a PAID stamp instead of a due date.
Can I use decimals for quantity?
Yes — quantities accept decimals, so you can bill 1.5 hours of labor or 2.25 yards of fabric and the line total is calculated exactly.
