๐Ÿ“– How it works & FAQ

How sponsored-post rates are calculated

The most common starting point in influencer marketing is the $100 per 10,000 followers rule. This calculator starts there, then adjusts for the number brands actually care about: engagement. Your engagement rate is compared to the typical rate for your platform (for example, about 2% on Instagram or 4.5% on TikTok) to produce a multiplier between 0.5× and 3×. A creator with double the typical engagement can reasonably charge about double the base rate, because their audience genuinely pays attention. The final figure is shown as a range — roughly 80% to 125% of the adjusted rate — because real deals move with usage rights, exclusivity, and how much the brand wants your niche. These figures are estimates only, not professional or financial advice; the base rate is editable so you can match your own market.

How to use it

  1. Choose your platform from the dropdown.
  2. Enter your current follower (or subscriber) count.
  3. Enter your engagement rate — average likes plus comments per post, divided by followers, times 100.
  4. Optionally adjust the base rate per 10k followers if your niche commands more (finance, B2B) or less.
  5. Read your suggested range, midpoint ask, and the engagement multiplier applied — results update live as you type.

FAQ

How do I find my engagement rate?
Take the average likes and comments on your last 10–12 posts, divide by your follower count, and multiply by 100. Most platform analytics dashboards also report it directly.
Should I quote the low or high end?
Open near the high end or midpoint and leave room to negotiate. Add more for exclusivity clauses, usage rights, whitelisting, or multi-post packages — those are worth real money on top of the post itself.
Why does the platform change my rate?
Typical engagement differs by platform, so the same 3% engagement is above average on Instagram but below average on TikTok. The multiplier reflects how you compare to your platform's norm.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser with plain JavaScript — nothing is sent to a server, stored, or tracked.
