Enter your total wedding budget and guest count, and this tool instantly splits the money across every major spending category using typical industry percentages — venue and catering around 45%, photography and video about 12%, attire, flowers and music near 8% each, and so on. Every category shows its dollar amount, its share of the budget, and its per-guest cost, all updating live as you type. Every percentage is editable

The default split is a starting point, not a rule. Care more about photos than flowers? Bump photography to 15% and cut decor. Getting married in a backyard? Slash the venue line and pour the savings into food and music. You can rename any category, change any percentage, delete lines you do not need, and add your own — the calculator re-splits the dollars instantly and tells you whether your percentages add up to exactly 100%, leave a cushion, or put you over budget.

FAQ

Why do venue and catering get 45%?
Food, drink and the space to serve it in are consistently the biggest wedding expense — most planners budget 40-50% of the total here. It scales directly with guest count, which is why trimming the list is the fastest way to save.
What is the contingency line for?
Roughly 5% set aside for overages — alteration surprises, vendor tips, last-minute rentals. Almost every wedding runs over somewhere, and a cushion keeps that from becoming debt.
Should I include the rings and honeymoon?
Rings are included by default at 3%; the honeymoon usually is not. Add a honeymoon category if you want one total number, and rebalance the other percentages down.
